On-staff gemologists help clients gain a deeper appreciation for the nuanced beauty of precious stones—teaching them to assess the Four Cs (color, clarity, cut and carat), the power in origin, and why, say, Argyle pink diamonds are so coveted today. After all, the jewelers know even the most beautiful pieces shine brighter when you learn their story. “When someone’s going to buy a piece of jewelry … they want to understand why this particular piece is important, in an environment where they can sit down and relax, and be with someone very knowledgeable,” managing partner Jarred Kaplan says.
